2012 Oktoberfest with the Marin A's

September 15, 2012

Bravo! The Marin A's did it again.

We crossed the Golden Gate Bridge for the third year to join our Marin A's hosts for their Oktoberfest at the Marin Rod & Gun Club. We gathered with close to thirty other Model A's from the Sonoma A's, Napa A's, and El Camino A's for a sunny Saturday afternoon picnic. The weather was fabulous, the company delightful, and the barbecue meats and beans and great variety of homemade salads and desserts were divine.

Oktoberfest was a great opportunity to kick tires and swap stories with some of the other clubs around the bay. Darryl Coe added a little color with his organ complete with monkey hand puppet. We brought five cars, we ate everything, we won a few raffle prizes, we solved all the world's problems, and then we came home. It was a great day.

As in past years the hit of the day was the homemade sugar cookie in the shape of a Model A hubcap – right down to the chocolate embossed Ford script logo.

Many thinks to the Marin A's for inviting our club.
