Museum Grand Opening

May 19, 2013

The grand opening of the Model A Ford Museum went off without a hitch Saturday May 18th at the Gilmore Museum Complex. Nearly four hundred Model A’s along with well over a thousand Model A’ers crowded the grounds and watched the ribbon cutting of the brand new Model A museum. Our very own Edie Jones was a guest of honor and one of the official ribbon-cutters.

Fashioned after a 1928 Ford dealership, the new Model A Ford Museum, located in Hickory Corners, in southwest Michigan on the campus of the renowned Gilmore Car Museum, display nearly 30 vehicles, cut-away engines and various memorabilia.

“The legendary Model A Ford has become an icon of Americana,” says Stan Johnson, president of the Model A Ford Foundation, Inc. (MAFFI). “And the museum will preserve the car and the era.”
