2014 Mystery Tour

April 13, 2014

You call it a Mystery Tour when you don’t know where the heck you’re going. The day was warm and clear; ideal for a drive down the coast. So, south we went, through the new tunnel at Devil’s Slide to the Point Montara Lighthouse. The buildings around the lighthouse date from the turn of the century and have been restored and now serve as a Hostel. There is a secluded cove beach and hiking in the nearby Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. We visited the cove but passed on the hiking. We stopped at Half Moon Bay for lunch at the Half Moon Bay Brewery. This is a great little place popular with locals. The menu is varied, appropriately priced, and each dish has a beer recommendation. Our last stop was the La Nebbia Winery for a little something to drink and a glassblowing demonstration. The winery has Bocci Ball Courts. My plan was to play a game or two but no one would accept my challenge. Mystery Tours are always an unpredictable adventure and this one was no exception.
